PSP and other Ports question

Guys, this is a pretty noob question, but before a couple of days ago, I never touched a psp before. So I would like to know how I play openbor mods on psp. I remember there was some threads about it on lavalit, but never bothered to read those explanations, as I never had a psp before. Now on CC I cannot find info related, and I'm a total noob regarding anything psp.

Also I would like to know if there's some possibility to see Openbor on 3DS and iOs. There's already one android so I was guessing if it's possible also to have for iphone, or the capabilities of the android are better than the iphone?
About 3DS, I mean just to be able to play on it, not to "see" any 3D enhancement.

Also, when the Ouya is released, it would be possible to find mods on it?

i find the PSP the greatest portable console of all, at least for my tastes, for many reasons, most of all because it is easely moddable and you can play A LOT of emulators flawlessly (and i prefer 1000 times more them than the actual generation of games) then you can watch movies, listen to music etc...

to play openbor on the psp is very simple, you have to obviously connect it to the pc, then go in the game folder (i think it is PSP/GAME/, i don't have the psp here with me  at the moment, anyway it's the folder where you put the emulators and the ps1 games), and put there the Openbor folder (the psp version of it, course).

Don't know about 3DS, but I would say iPhone is a very long shot. It is a completely different and far less malleable environment than Android. It's also much weaker hardware; they rely on tight software controls and good optimization to do more with less. Android is kind of similar to the PC in that they let software devs go wild and more or less brute force their way through the resulting chaos with higher specs. I'm sure the iPhone has more than enough to run OpenBOR per say, but there wouldn't be as much wiggle room.

Wouldn't mind seeing Openbor on the oyua upon its release. Imo the oyua would be the best platform for Openbor bear in my mind this is just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. So that's the reason for the lack of an iphone port. About the 3DS, I thought it might be similar to the Wii but clearly I don't know very much about specifics...
About Wii, I bet if it works on wii, it works on wii U.

well, I have one UMD (Kurohyou 2) but I'm just enjoying one game I wanted to try since long ago: Castlevania X Chronicles. What emulators are possible to play on psp? gba per chance?  And agreed, I like some later generation games like the god of war and the taiko series, but I prefer a good old fashion game.

And about music, that'll come in handy since I lost my iphone and don't have any other way to listen music  ;D

and agreed... I don't think I'll own an Ouya on a short term, but I think it would be a big help to the OpenBor community.

EDIT: I cannot play openbor games... it shows me the obor icon, but when I want to start the engine it says "impossible to start game, data are damage"

Yeah, PSP for the time being is still the best homebrew handheld console. Though I'll tell you what; once there's a full speed Dreamcast or Saturn emulator for Android, I'm jumping ship and buying a JXD s602 immediately!

What emulators are possible to play on psp? gba per chance?
Off the top of my head...
-NES
-SNES
-GB/C
-GBA
-N64 (still pretty slow, but Mario 64 is 80% full speed)
-Genesis
-Sega CD
-Master System
-Game Gear
-Wonderswan/Color
-Neo Geo MVS
-Neo Geo AES
-Neo Geo CD
-Neo Geo Pocket/Color
-PS1
-CPS1
-CPS2
-Some MAME (but not much)
-ScummVM
-Atari something
-Dreamcast VMU (I think)
-Sega Saturn (proof of concept, 2-3 fps at best)

That's all I can think of...

I sold psp twice, wanted to buy it again recently and now when we have openbor on android i wont ever look back, n64 on psp wasnt that good, very slow, it runs very nice on android with 1ghz processor.I dont miss my psp, i have the same emulators on android phone.Waiting for dualcore JXD now to see performance tests and maybe ill buy it for physical buttons mostly.

I got a question:
I've been using Amazon a lot lately since having a job, and with my B-Day coming up in a few weeks, I want to order myself one of those handheld Dingoo consoles. I know OpenBOR can run on these things, but does the model of it matter, or can it run on any of them no matter what? This is the particular I want:

personally, i don't think model matters. it again this is just my personal opinion it revolves what you intend to run on it. check this vid might be able to answer question. i kind of got a question myself. not to come off as sounding like a beggar and a complete noob. could someone by chance compile a linux version of the current build? and post it up here? still getting used to switching over to linux and have failed several times at trying to compile anything in general. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uvSy84SGjs

strange indeed, i've never experienced this message... have you put everything in the right folder? maybe you have corrupted data?  :-\

Do we have a port for OpenBOR on it yet?

The JXD S602 is an Android device, and there's an OpenBOR port for Android now thanks to utunnels.  So yes.

those jxd are cool i thnk i will pick one too
but i think i will get a bigger one look at those jxd products

I really like the look of this one:
http://www.jxd.hk/products.asp?id=556&selectclassid=009002001

Also:
Games GBA, GBC, GB, NES, SMD, SMC, BIN, SWF, 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit games
These things handle SWF to? Now dats gangsta, especially since I have a bunch of those in a folder.

Yeah, I'm waiting on my s602 to come in the mail. I have to admit, that little calculator-sized DS thingy is pretty slick. And I agree with DJ about running SWF's... Megaman Next, Stinkoman 20X6, and Abobo's Big Adventure on the go? F-yeah. I wonder if I could get the Dungeon Fighter Online SWF demo to play offline, too.

I actually have an SWF titled KOF vs. DNF, among a few others, but if it does handle them, I think your SWF will be no different.
On the other hand, I'm lookin at S7100 now. Looks pretty good in size and hooks to TVs, but I don't see SWF on the list, so I don't know. That feature and the price could be the deal maker or break between this JXD V3

I just hope that when good speed versions of the Dreamcast and Saturn emu get released, the JXD s602 will be able to run them. Because I'll be pissed if I paid $70 for an equivalent to my PSP. :(

go to dingooscene forums and android section, thres lots of opinions about jxd devices, 602 is best one at the moment, dont look at the adverts, look for review vids.
nicky i can tell you right now that 602 wont be able, its about 1ghz , did you seen 1gz cpu running dreamcast emu? my 2.8 ghz pc was barely able to run it.dualcore 2ghz wont be able too, you have to wait for quadcore i think and of course emulator that supports it.I switched to android when i saw n64 emu running fullspeed.
jxd can run mame emulator mame4droid which runs much more games than mame on psp, emulationwise 1ghz vs 400mhz of psp tells how much improvement it is.SNES lagged on kirby on psp and some other games, on android most emus run fullspeed,ps1 emu as well. The only thin that could be missed are psp games but i dont miss any psp game that much.I had psp as emulator machine mostly but now my android phone runs emulators much faster than psp
