PSP and other Ports question

nicky i can tell you right now that 602 wont be able, its about 1ghz , did you seen 1gz cpu running dreamcast emu? my 2.8 ghz pc was barely able to run it.dualcore 2ghz wont be able too, you have to wait for quadcore i think and of course emulator that supports it.

That's on a dualcore 1.2 ghz. I know it's better than 1ghz, but... I don't know. I'm just going to wait and see. The hope of a portable Dreamcast is the only reason I bought the s602.

ah so it runs ok but needs to be dualcore but 1.5, dualcore 1 wont handle it
Its 1.2 here but its sonic, others wouldnt run as smooth imo, my 2.8 ran marvel vs capcom smooth but was sweating A LOT doing it.
Hmm... that video looks fake, its like hes playing video and moving fingers a bit, didnt did anything complicated ,only 1 button at time, very suspicious, for me its fake but we will see.
Here is xperia play which is  1ghz so 602  would run games like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atNZC26Yz5E

This runs nice, i think ill try it , s601 is older and slower
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oClzvJYs_x8
Im really surprised that it runs so smooth.

Psyman (the guy in the vid I linked) is apparently working on that same emulator now (or at least was). The original author DrkRaziel quit sometime after the leaked alpha apk was released (the vid you linked). So I don't think the video is fake, but only time will tell...

Look. As long as the s602 can run PSO at a respectable speed, I won't complain. That and Triggerheart Exelica is really all I want a Dreamcast emulator for!

I think that MvC2 video you linked was a guy streaming... Unless I'm wrong? I do know that the leaked alpha of NullDCE doesn't have analog stick support, so that may be inconvenient.

EDIT: DC, you may want to move these posts into a new thread? It doesn't matter to me either way, though.

Yeah, PSP for the time being is still the best homebrew handheld console. Though I'll tell you what; once there's a full speed Dreamcast or Saturn emulator for Android, I'm jumping ship and buying a JXD s602 immediately!
thanks for the info!! so it runs a lot of emulator, but not dreamcast and barely saturn (I want a saturn emulator!!)

on the other hand.... Android is also a portable console? I thought all this time it was only some kind of smartphone (my girlfriend has pone, not sure which model, but its a small phone, I cant imagine it running openbor!!).
Im asking because I want a portable emulator console, and for the looks of the posts, it seems like android got it.

IIRC Android is just another OS. The only difference is, unlike iOS devices, it's a whole lot more open for development. Android is commonly used on smartphones, but with things like JXD products or the Ouya, it can easily be a homebrew gaming device.

so the best at the moment is the s602? it runs openbor mods good? (android port). How much you paid for it Nick? )and how much costs a PSP there, just to make a small comparison v/s s602) Looks like if I want one, I'll have to import from... maybe the US? 'coz I haven't see any jxd android in here...

not related to topic: on the board, the non-capital "G" looks like a non-capital "Q"

Truth be told, I only paid $4 for my JXD s602... but that's because I had a lot of gift card money from Amazon! But really, with shipping, it came to about $72.

You can get a core PSP (just the system) new for about $99, but if you shop around you could probably find it cheaper.

@Pierwolf, I solved the problem, now I can play openbor games on my psp, thanks a lot!  :D

@Nick, I'm really interested to buy a s602, but my worry is where to buy it and the shipping cost.

also some dumb question: you can use youtube/skype on a s602? since I lost my iphone, and mostly not buying a new one in a long time, I need some portable stuff to use both youtube and skype to talk with my family, so if I can use them on a s602, I can kill two birds with one shoot.

I got mine off Amazon, but I just checked and they aren't available. You can get one here though: http://www.willgoo.com/jxd-s602-android-40-retro-handheld-multiplaying-4gb-p-275.html

Thanks for the heads up NickyP. I don't wanna sign up to a bunch of sites, but on the other hand, the price is cheaper, so you're also saving me money.

Fun fact: my Criminal Law professor both looks and sounds like the Allstate guy. But then again, my prof is the man in general. Love that guy.

Thanks for the link Nick. But another dumb question: it says memory of  4GB, so it cannot be upgraded like the psp where you an use memory stick pro duo for it? Can you use skype/youtube and/or browse through internet?

There's no dumb questions here, DIF! Heck, the only reason I know all this stuff is because I heavily research anything I spend my money on. Like to get a good investment, you know?

Anyways. The 4GB is internal HD memory, but there's an SD card slot. So just like the PSP, you can have more memory for more games.  :)

Seriously!?! Quit playin'!

NickyP don't play games, son.

So I don't have to spend an extra $20 bucks on more memory  since I have SD cards? Nice.

Nice.

Thanks again for the answers Nick.
Also found that indeed you can use Skype, I need that to chat with my family so I'm thinking seriously on buying one. And I found on amazon.co.jp, with shipping, for about $96USD  :(
I know is cheaper on the link you posted from Willgoo, but I cannot use credit card or paypal, while on amazon I pay when I receive the items directly, so I will meditate about it (and see if I can buy it this month). I hope you share your experience when you receive yours!!

+1. So I can use the sd card from the 3ds, cool! (although I would have preferred the MS pro from the psp).

edit: agreed with DJ, looking at the JXD s7100, woud be nice to play openbor on a big portable screen  :) but I don't know which one is better, the s602 or the s7100...

Oh you know I will! I'll probably make a topic about it. It's supposed to come in the mail sometime this week, but even if it does I won't be able to try it until at least Friday. One of the first things I plan to try is Sonic 4:Ep. 2 and RetroArch.

You might want to read into the s7100. Some of the JXD products have issues with button combinations. On my friend's s5100, pushing L+R and the D-pad would trigger the Start button. So playing some games, like Star Fox 64, made a lot of problems. The s602 definitely doesn't have a button combination problem, but I don't know if the s7100 does. You'll want to look into that.  :)
