In some aspects I'm a little unsatisfied, but overall it's not bad.
For starters, it uses MicroSD cards, NOT normal SD cards. But it's all good, because I was able to buy a 32GB MicroSD for the price of a 16GB SD.
One thing I have to mention is that you MUST set it up manually at first. And by that, I mean rooting it and installing a custom ROM. The JXD ROM that it comes with is extremely slow and all-around terrible. After using this turtorial, the device works a whole lot better. However, this process is very confusing at first and can be a real headache. In fact, it took about 3-4 hours for me to figure out how to do it. But in all fairness, this was my first real experience with an Android device, so maybe it was just me.
The Wi-Fi receiver is... well, non-existent. I literally have to stand next to my router in order to get any Wi-Fi, but that may just be my personal device. You never know what you'll get when it comes to bootleg Chinese products.
The built quality is surprisingly decent. You obviously don't want to drop it anytime soon, but it at least feels like a mainstream product. The buttons are a little stiff, and the D-Pad can be a hindrance in some games, but overall it's not bad. The one thing I have to mention is that the analogue stick is NOT a real analogue stick. I mean, it works and all, but it's not separate hardware. Basically, the analogue stick is the same thing as the D-Pad. This isn't too much of a problem in N64 games, but I just thought I'd let you know.
And how does it handle games? Pretty good, actually. I still prefer my PSP for a lot of the emulation, but overall I'm satisfied. N64 is about 90% full speed, and Snes has a slight delay in sound effects. I haven't found a good (free) PC-Engine CD emulator, and the same with Sega CD. Saturn is obviously slow, but the emulator was only released a week ago. Genesis doesn't sound quite right, and the colors are slightly off on the NES one. MAME is alright, but as always, is a headache to setup. As for Android games? All I've tried are Sonic 4: Episode 2 Lite and Sonic CD Lite. They play just fine.
In the end, if you have a homebrew PSP, don't make the switch just yet. Wait until some better emulators come out on the Android market. The JXD s602 isn't a bad device, but there's no rush to run out and grab one just yet.
