In Progress Streets of Rage X Beta 36

The project is currently under development.
And the there's "old man strength". There used to be a guy in my gym who was short and squat, in his early 70's, and always complained about this or that being sore, can't do it like he used to, etc... then put four freakin' plates on the bench for his work weight and pop off 5-6 full sets no problem.

DC

That was more what I was leaning towards, meaning being an older man.

There was this video I saw on YouTube ages ago where this guy on a bus was messing with this older man who was sat down until he had enough & got up...
Dude was diesel for an older guy & also an army vet.
Proceeded to knock the sails out of the other guy. 🤣

@Kratus I recently dusted off my old copy of Sor2x version 1.7 and gave it another play. It made me wonder: would it be possible to add the old v1.7 character movesets back as alternate options in future updates? It would be great to have a way to toggle or select those legacy movesets again alongside the current versions.

@Kratus, I think there is a bug with the Group type game in Survival mode. The size of the group is always defined by the setting "Enemy amount" in Unlockables. So if we set the group max amount to 1, but "Enemy amount" in Unlockables is set to 8x enemies, a minimum of 8 enemies will be spawned. Also, if we set "Enemy amount" in Unlockables to Disabled or 1x, there will always be 1 enemy spawned. I expected that this mode would spawn a random number of enemies from 1 to max defined number for the game type.

I did a 1 life start 1cc of SOR 1 with 8x Enemies
Amazing!! Thank you, my friend :)

Here’s a preview of one of the moves I’m working on for the playable version of some of the game's enemies I showed Kratus. It still needs some polishing and color adjustments, but this is the concept: a "Special + Forward" move for R. Bear—a quick one-two punch. The idea is for him to execute the second hit only if the first one connects.

The other moves are a surprise ;)

* I’ve always liked R. Bear because, in a way, he reminds me of Foreman, and people make the same mistake when looking at this character: "Oh, he's old and overweight"... meanwhile, he hit like a runaway Scania truck with bald tires on a rainy day :)
Thanks buddy :)

Coincidentally I was playing the old SOR2X these days and thinking about bringing back some cool things as an legacy option.
But it would be more related to special effects, not related to the moveset. What moves exactly are you talking about?

By default, the survival mode was developed considering all the unlockables as "disabled".
However, I can maybe make the options in this menu to not affect the survival mode, since most game settings options were made for the arcade version of the game.
I will do some tests in this aspect.

@Kratus, also, please add all the characters for Survival modes, like in Rebellion mode.
No problem, I put this task in my "to do" list.

The survival modes are super fun!
Thank you, friend :)

Ah nice timing! Glad to hear you're already considering legacy options.
Regarding the special effects, I was thinking of things like the old hit impacts, and skill visuals from 1.7 that gave moves a different feel.
As for the moves specifically, the main ones I remembered are:

  • Adam: Had an Akuma-style air divekick (Down + Medium Kick).
  • Rage Skills: Most characters had high-combo Rage moves, plus weapons had their own dedicated Rage attacks in 1.7.

Exactly, I was thinking the same. Even some custom loading screens and "stage start" presentation too.

Adam: Had an Akuma-style air divekick (Down + Medium Kick).
In the latest SORX version, Adam already have this move as an aerial special. Just press the special button while jumping.

Most characters had high-combo Rage moves
Sorry friend, I didn't understand this one. Rage moves already are present.

This one too, each hero has a rage move using their preferred weapon.

I think in this case, they're talking about Adam's multi hitting 'ultra combo' like rage attack in the earlier versions.

In the game Streets of Rage X: Beta 36, many changes have been made, and that’s great. However, I would like to see new characters added to the game.
Don't worry, friend. For the next update, I will add Super Shiva and Ninjo.

I can't seem to get this to work.
Sorry friend, I should have explained better this one. This move works if you hold up or down "while running", basically during a diagonal run. And the super final crash was preserved for when you are running straight.
This was the only way I thought to add all his classic attacks, otherwise I would have had to remove one of them.

Oh so it's a running attack...
I though you had to do the input while getting up like the regular one, that's why I was struggling. Thank you for clearing that up.
