I love this custom level intro!!
This give a really nice gameplay feeling!
Does it uses just a custom spawn anim? (might be some scripts...)

He uses a follow animation with script used for making it fit as an alternate spawn animation for custom intro for instance.

Let me share something I got the idea accidentally: Animated stage progress indicator.
There are some light animations on this stage, including the stripes on the floor. They are yellow at the stage start...


...get orange when you are in the middle of the stage...


...and get red (and faster) when you are near of the end

That looks cool, O! A stage passer indicator? Sounds like a very cool idea to me. I've never imagined that idea before. I like.

A question, Whirlwind will be present in the game?.
IMO, Whirlwind should replace the first instance of Hydra Golem. Will Klaw and Living Laser still appear?

Whirlwind is done, but I am having a hard time ballancing him. Right now, he is too trong (he is invencible when he spins). If I put him at the first stage, people will rage quit from the game.

Klaw and Living Laser will appear, but later on the game.

About Dr. Strange and Daredevil, I dunno. Maybe Strange can appear as a helper, but about Daredevil I really don't know. I don't like the character too much. But since I plan to add Bullseye later on the game, why not? ;)

A stage passer indicator? Sounds like a very cool idea to me. I've never imagined that idea before. I like.
Thanks man. I remember uTunnels made something with stage palette, but this method is different - its a panel with camera position tracking.

Changed the custom item (now its Captain's head and maybe it wil change beased on which option you choose):

Changed the time of the stage and added the door. The door is closed until you beat all enemies.

PS: I am playing the game in debug mode, where you can kill any entity on the screen.
 
Friend, just great. This is incredible you have many details in the game. On the walls of the hydra base you have hung some masks of gas. I loved that detail. I congratulate him. For me when you release this beta, it will be a Christmas gift. Thank you. regards

Have you an idea of what attack he'd use ? Given his skills, it's maybe a good occasion to test an unseen effect!
 
That is a good question. Just make him pose as casting a spell, I can think about this when I code him :)

How intense! It seems to me it requires a lot of cooperation betwin the 2 players and a lot of training to understand the patterns and to discover solutions against them. Does the number of enemies depend on that of players?
I don't like boring combos with just simple attacks against a wall.

Anyways, keep it up, it's exciting!
 
This is looking great Illu :) The level looks so hard but very well designed. I love the Hydra enemies and the Alpha/Beta robots are a nice touch!

The Cameo is the Deadpool 1Up right?

I still hope for Dr Strange as a playable instead of a helper. He's my best friend's favourite superhero and I was hoping we could co-op as our favourite heroes once the full game is here.

I love watching your co-op plays too, they're great. I went back and watched all your other ones yesterday. It would be fun to see you do the full demo once it's released :)

Is there an ETA on the new demo? Looking forward to playing it. I might record videos of my playing with every character and maybe share them here :)

No, its fixed.  Those helpers come until you kill the boss.

Yes, I changed it. To look less the original game and to match the timezone of the previous stages (you start at morning, on the first page).

My goal is to release this in december, close to 20th. And please, do the videos once the demo is out :)



Working on Tactical Force, and I am almost done with him. As you can see, you won't be able to call for helpers on this stage.
I am trying to give some uniqueness for each boss battle and this one will have a special feature :)


The battle begins with the truck covered, to disguise the heroes. But soon the enemies realize the trick ...

Oh that's great :) I don't mind waiting for him at all, I just mistakenly assumed he was only going to be a helper in the finished game too.

Sounds great :) I love the unique feel you're giving the bosses. It's something that a lot of OpenBOR games seem to lack. You're attention to detail is just perfect.

Funny seeing Deadpool driving the truck x) The fact that he seems to be looking at the camera instead of the road makes it even better with his track record for breaking the fourth wall. I can't wait to see what kind of voice lines he has when he becomes playable. I remember the "mooom he's hitting me!" line from First Alliance 2. Makes me laugh every time I hear it. It would be great if he mocked or yelled at the player when he took heavy damage or lost a life.

I don't know why but I LOVE Tactical Force's colour palette. You did an awesome job with it. Is there any chance that Iron Man could get that as an alternate costume in the future?

Keep up the amazing work :) every time I see a new post or video from you I get a little excited because I know it's going to be awesome, haha.
 
@16-bit Fighter - I got an idea for Dr. Strange helper: he will vanish one enemy from the screen. Lesser enemies will be killed instantly. Bosses and sub bosses will just recei damage.

I love the unique feel you're giving the bosses. It's something that a lot of OpenBOR games seem to lack.
I agree with you. I don't want to sound arrogant, but there are things in OpenBOR mods which bothered me since long time. One of the things is the "skin" games - games where the coder just change the sprites, but its basically the same old BOR. The other is the mix match of many games, where the coders just put and paste everything together without any rule - everything clash with everything. I just can't stand those games (and it gave a bad reputation to OpenBOR for ages).

I am not the best modder of the world, but I am trying to make a good game, full of details, and not just "one more mod".

Maybe - on the future - I code a Hydra Four mode, where you play with those bosses.

Worked a little more and included something cool - that machine gun will help you to fight Tactical Force (and you will need it, believe me). Once you punch it, it shoots a beam to damage the enemies.

You can change the direction of the gun if you hit it from behind.

Friend you are the master of the details that Deadpool driving that truck is a super good touch.

How much levels will have this beta coming. Is going to be final game sow ???
