This update isn't as beefy as I'd hoped, but... Significant developments have happened in my legal career, so I haven't worked on anything OpenBOR-related in a while. Still, I consider ClaFan both my best and main project, so I'll always update it as much as I can.

As always, enjoy. :)

Looks great Nick!

Later on, once I learn more script, hidden stages will be the method in which you unlock secret characters.

The script for this is pretty simple. The only thing that would make it more complex is number of required unlocked factors.

I'm also thinking of implementing a loot system, but it'll most likely just be different items that boost your score;

Hmmmm.... I wonder :)

yea nick, this is my favourite mod of yours, i hope to see a complete version of it one day.  :)

like bloodbane says, making hidden stages with scripts is pretty simple once you undestand it, and if i, a totally script-noob, tell you this, you can believe it ;D

my K&D mod is full of examples if you want to try it.

Nick, is that you're updated version of ClaFan with the Devil Hunter in it? I wonder if he's in the mod for download.

Thanks guys! I promise I won't disappoint!  ;D

Nope. The link in the first post is the last one I uploaded from Lavalit. You probably already played it. I just put it there for new people who might not have played it yet.  :)

Chronocrash upload approved. Thank you Matman!

is there an item system you can impliment ?
Do you mean like an equippable item system, with a store and stuff? Or do you mean having containers in the stages with health items and etc? The answer to both is yes, but... well for the first one, I don't know how to do it, but I can learn. And for the second one, I can easily do it!

Nice job Nicky! I really like the new quests

Also doing a let's explore series and you can check that out here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS3RV-Y5HgVEwQ6OGQEC9XDLSJ43JH4qE&feature=mh_lolz

both would be good, grass and trees you can cut to find extra health and chests to break open to find powerups or coins, and a store system to upgrade shield and sword etc or to give elements to attacks (fire, ice etc)
Stuff to break to find health and coins etc, that I can promise for sure. But I have no idea how to script a store or anything like that.  :( On an off-topic note, I've always wanted to do a 4-player remake of River City Ransom; but the reason I'm not doing it is because I don't know how to make throws or stores.

It was interesting to watch. I saw some techniques and strategies that I never thought of nor seen whenever I played with my friends. I'm glad you liked it.  :D

btw Nicky, what happened with Rivulet City Ransom?

"NickyP Cutscene Syndrome." Every time I make a mod with fancy animated cutscenes, I always end up losing interest and abandoning it. ;D It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but it's true. I guess I'm lazy or something...

It's not to say that I won't go back to it ever again, but not anytime soon. Tales of Fantasy turned out to be a really neat concept, and I'd be sad to see that potential go unused. But then again, Rivulet was good too... ugh, sometimes I hate being a one-man-show.

The last time I touched Rivulet was in 2011, and here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/download/hj4bqnqd0u304ud/RCR.7z

I know what you mean with being lazy and for changing to another mod. I started to test some script on a double drsgon mod and I got addicted to that mod...

but with ClaFan you see to not have lose any interest with  :)

the last update I saw from you Rivulet (what means Rivulet btw?) you had Richter and a Castlevania stage, with still didnt have a boss.

I think that's partially because I'm a JRPG guy at heart, and ClaFan lets me mod differently. Typically you make things in their natural order, you know? Start with stage 1, all the enemies for stage 1, the music and boss etc, and then you move on to stage 2. With ClaFan, I'm free to make almost whatever I want. Hell, I actually made the final boss for the game a long time ago (it's in there if you paxplode it!). So because ClaFan allows me to just "do whatever," I think that's why I haven't lost interest since I started it two years (!) ago.

It's a small river, a type of stream. Plus it's a sort of pun. It's not River City Ransom, it's Rivulet City Ransom. Eh? Ehh?  ;D

;D I can see that. Nice thing about free roaming mode like this, we can add quests as many as and anytime we want ;)

I actually took a peek at the final boss I must say it's pretty hard. I feel like the Final form theme could've had better music but that's just my opinion. I can't wait to see the rest of the story.

btw I update the playlist you can watch the rest of the playlist
