Great, so at the moment the only way to create a 3d cube this way is with screens ? Top.Front,Left and Right planes/walls of the cube, no way to use fglayers for this ? I really would like to experiment with pseudo 3d levels with perspective changes.

bWWd,

Oh you could probably make a cube or any number of things. I just think it would be much easier and less limited with scripted screens.

So how to do a cube using fglayers ?
I made a couple of strips here but i noticed that when you dont have visible marks on actual texture of the image then 3d effect is not that noticeable, it needs some lines

Looks awesome to me, I actually like the subtlety of it. As for making cubes and shapes, you don't have to use screens, but I'm not 100% sure you can do it completely without script. I think you can, but never tried. I'd have to experiment to see.

Damon Caskey

looking forward to playing your fatal fury based module,

i don't know why i never got into KOF or Fatal Fury, even tho there was ample chance to play them in emulators for more than a decade now, but at least with the module i get to enjoy some of what makes those games popular...

Damon does the rain work now...I wanted to have a stormy level and I have some rain and thunder sounds but this rain is much better than what I found.

Still mostly working on Golden Axe, the engine, and a new Wiki, but just for kicks I dusted this off and put together a quick demo reel of Ryu to show off the basic mechanics. Nothing really all that ground breaking, but I'd like to think attention to detail and production quality are passable.

Everything I see here looks awesome!

Beside of these * english Ryu voices.

Interesting edit for this kick...

I think the inputs for the Joudan Sokuto Geri and the Shoryuken should be switched, to be more consistent with the fact the former is a kick move and his other kick special uses jump. A lot of other authors use D, U, A for a Shoryuken-type move, but I can see why you stick with a more accurate command for the move.

Sorry Miru, that's not how I see it. In all my projects, I try to map Jump button to specials that lunge, jump, or otherwise cause some sort of movement, thus the Shoryuken and Tatsu. The the Attack button is mapped to specials that are mainly just attacks or projectiles (Sokuto Geri, Hadouken).

As for U, D, or D, U, those are reserved for universal moves and lateral attacks. I don't like them for special moves at all.

In the meantime, here's another quick demo, this time from guest star Galford:

The attention to detail is impeccable, look at the water, it's movement, how it glimmers, really catches my eye, fantastic work Damon

Any gameplay of this project always looks like a "technical demo"

Nice to see Galford again... in action.

Yeah sorry. You didn't miss much. One of my long winded and pointless explanations about the mechanics.

Is this game available anywhere? Is Galford's dog controllable by the player? If so, I wanna see how that's done.

Basically I want to make it so that I have a pet following the player around, but the player can command it to attack.

This is awesome, the mechanics look on point.
I like the ground kick in particular.
This is a great example of not having to use all the character's sprites when making a player which is something I can't bring myself to do yet.
Is it possible to cast a shade over Ryu during night time?
That stage though, I'm all for animated backgrounds.

Sorry I didn't see your question @Aerisetta. In a word, no. While I was making the mechanics exactly as you described, I have decided to pursue my own IPs moving forward, and I'm not willing to release unfinished demos of things that still have old code in them.

What I will be doing is making small exhibition modules of specific mechanics. NPC "remote control" is actually one of the simpler ones.

You just killed a kitten @Grit. Light sourcing is indeed supported, and just wasn't implemented yet in that video.

I been meaning to ask.
Is there no way to get this project added to resources by any chance?
