up, up attack to get off the cat ;D i know hes very irritating sometimes, i think best way would be to summon him for 10 seconds or something and he goes away if you wont get on top of him.

Played it! Some thoughts:

- Good idea on having more than one type of gameplay.

- I like the idea of saving the Widgets

- Love the sound effects

- I wouldn't add enemies right on the start of the levels, as players need some time to get familiar with the controls.

- The chars need a bit of invincible time when rising, otherwise they can get stuck in an eternal shower of Horde Troopers' laser beams.

- Battlecat is a very cool addition but I don't know… he's too big, and a bit distracting. I personally would leave him behind.

- It is a very gorgeous looking game, The mixture of background pictures and sprites is excellent.

- The effect used for the shadows make it hard too know where the rocks and the hand will land.

- The hand design seems out of place. Where is it from?

- Where did you get the music? The examples I have seen elsewhere have sound effects on them.

Now, regarding the animation. This is a very personal opinion, but I find the character animation to be very very off. The characters move like puppets made out of paper cut outs. There is also some of that "squash and stretch" technique that feels out of place, as that was more common in WB cartoons. There's really no way around it - some of the traditional frame by frame animation would have to be used. We would be able to see rotating torsos, for example. I understand that replicating the rotoscoped Filmation animation is far too time consuming, but at least adding an extra frame here and there will help. Otherwise it looks like a flash game, very unlike the show.

Other than that, a very good demo. I already prefer it to the official tablet game.

I changed battlecat and he can be spawned with up,up attack, also added trainin stage.
Some characters would eventually get other views on walking anims and maybe some attacks so its not the same angle all the time, he-man walking and a bit of running is made using frame by frame reference from cartoon.
You can do up,up attacks to escape from some corner troubles cause they dont have bboxes.
I will eventually remove most annoyances, most important part is to get the stuff that hit you the most when playing for the first time and was too hard or weird or somethin.
I updated the link in first post, you can redownload newest version with battlecat spawn with special attack.
I think link is even exactly the same so if i make any changes i will post here and you can just redownload it again from the same location
To make the game look identical like show it would have to be in 12fps in most animations, if animation is too smooth then it looks like flash game. Most frames were displayed twice on screen in cartoon and played in 24fps.
ah the hand is from that episode

I totally forgot about my birthday today and now i cant sleep, i changed gems to add health and i think game is easier now, i was afraid it will be too easy but i think its sometimes too hard but now should be fine just fight enemies and get gems after every fight.

Happy birthday!

And LOL I didn't remember that hand at all. It looks like from Ren & Stimpy or something.

Regarding the difficulty it's OK if it's too easy in the first stage, then increase the difficulty as the game progresses.

Eventually a lot of stuff is going to be replaced.Ah and thanks for wishes, sucks they never come true haha ;D still waiting for 10years old wishes to come true :'(
Anyway thanks  :)

Happy B-Day, bWWd! Demo looks gorgeous and plays wonderful! I would only suggest adding a combo counter, since the game is very combo friendly, and a move that would deflect the enemies once you're surrounded (the one that's performed with attack+jump in most of beat 'em ups). :D

One questions: What's the "special" button for?

special button isnt used, im deciding between special attack and blocking but i dont want to add another button just to have another special attack so maybe i will use it for blocking or add cancels in pain animations...
I had combo meter in early versions but i disabled it, now i checked it again and i know why...
i dont like that you have to make space for bigger numbers and combo meter text doesnt move itself to create space for bigger numbers, so you have to set it like "HITS 123" not like "123 HITS!" which i dont like.

Maybe this is better:

OR i should probably get bigger font for this, like complete area font.
Anyway, you can redownload it, its with combo counter now.

I played it with my cousin yesterday and it's amazing how much fun (and explosive combos) this demo offers when played cooperatively. :D I can already feel that a full game will be a blast! 8)
