Canceled Hokuto no ken: Fury road 0.1.1

No permission to download
Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
if you ask for permition maybe you got even not used sprites and things never released from original creators
so if you can contact the authors will be always better

maybe he can be or partner or support you in many ways as you both will share the same dream theme game

where you got all the sprites? my version of this game is moleboxed and i only have some characters from old versions

Welcome Minor,
And good start! Really!

If I recall, HKN game is made by an italian team.
I don't know if they are still active and can be contacted.  ???

Anyway.
Let me give you my advice about your project.
Visually, in select screen, try to lower your standing characters, they are struck in the corner and almost touch the edge of screen.

Also, I highly recommand to pallette swap your game enemies and try to keep them in SNK/Neogeo style. Som they will be well mixed with the full game.

Don't hesitate to check how works the Openbor mods/games you like, so you can adapt some features to your game.

Keep it up ;)

The thing is, i already thought to contact them. But it's hard to find them. All their links are dead. And i don't know exactly who made them. (cause my game is moleboxed too, if not i could have seen in chars txt the author).

What do you mean exactly? the palette of the enemy skins right?

Thank you guys for all advices.

Yes.
More globaly using a different color scheme to differenciate the enemy from what he looked like in his game

Also editing a little the face of enemy can make really good results (See "Super Fightin Spirit" game by BWWD)

Is there going to be the same violence(like body parts dismembered, body part explodes, and other violence) just like on the tv show?

It's like a curse not one FOTN obor game has been completed yet, only wips.  Was that a demo or a full game for the Italian team?  I remember they had their own forum at one stage, and they were saying that FOTN would be released shortly, someone got gravely ill and then the game was never released.  Then the forum died too.

Someone was ill...i understand.
by the way, if someone have a link or know someone about this project, tell me, i'll try to contact it.

What's new

- change stand animation in select screen (ty ned)
- change  palette for enemies to be mixed with main chars (not perfect yet).
- enemies palette
- add musics
- voices sound for main chars.
- intro stage, before and at the beginning (not convinced too  ;D )
- 1st boss made
- fixed projectile

i work step by step, I spend more time to learn manual and study other mods than progress the game lol  ;D
I'll try to put a small video soon  ;)

you must do a kof colors palette style to all your enemies to make they match to the hokuto no ken kof style characters

try to use those skin tones on jack for example

Thank you very much rafhot for the help :)

I try this, is it better for jack in your opinion? what's missing? (don't tell me to redraw like the kof matlock you gave me, i'm a poor spriter  :-X )

nice!
using kof colors will decrease the sprites differences in colors
that shine white shade colors the original palette characters have always make they clash more

in my opinion you can play with as many skin tones tones you want for each enemy
from the most pale skin to the brown dark brown  black variations so give the enemies a variations skin tones alongside clothes colors

all using a kof character palette as base to match the hokuto no ken kof style characters colors

Yes this type of color edit (palette swap) is good.
Your color edit is pretty good. Keep it up.

And no, you don't need to actually sprite edit the enemies to match KOF style.  :)

yeah the white shade is a pain, i redrawn all matlock sprites for that.

also you can try to rip those enemies
I will! i just downloaded the first  game, i will see if the enemies won't be so far of a kof style.
For the second game, i already saw this screen, but i already have a jagi  ;)

And thank you for advices and tips, that looks way better now (and my english always so good)

yes, i played a bit, there's a lot of kof things (billy kane, krizalid...)
But 2 things about this game:

-it's only in fullscreen mode. I try to change config.ini or "alt+enter" in game to windowed the game. it doesn't work. i can't rip with animget.

-chars are blurry and lacks of details, hard to put them in my game without spriting them.

if someone has an idea for the first point.

Ripping is sometimes hard.
BTW if they are blurry. Don't event try to edit them.
It will take too much time and give bad results. :-\

I would suggest you to watch HNK and check enemies style then try to replicate this style with existing characters sprites.
Then palette swap them (just like you did) and it's OK! :D

The bonus would be to add few details on face etc (particulary if the character used is really iconic or overused)

hi friend.nice work.keep up the good work.
i really love kenshiro and love your game.as a tip you can do some better spirit for characters and add more objects in stages for good atmospher:)
and please when made your game think about we PSP owner and make it something that psp can run it.
thanks.

I gave up to rip sprites for the hokuto no ken game ;D
i have a lot of enemies in mind, if you have any ideas too, don't hesitate!
For the face details i will see in the future if i can edit them... ;)

What do you mean by "some better spirit"?

By the way, i worked a bit, i'm making hud, watching all the anime to create a story mode (and its...LONG lol). i edited some sprites, and began the 2nd stage.
Everything is summary but here a small video of my beginning ;)
