This is a test of a game that I'm working on based on He-Man. The character design is based on the Original/Classic action figures. What I'm going for is more like a platform game, heavily inspired by the NES versions of Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania. It still needs a lot of work though.

Here's a video I just uploaded to YouTube and some sprites that I'm working on:

Excellent i love the idée and the last level is so beautiful :D
Maybe try to make enemy animation more important ?
Thanks

I like this concept.
also the graphics have some special savour... 8)

BTW, how do you code patforms ? Technically.
Are all the platforms some entity or it's a map where you put some hitboxes for interaction?
Also, do you triad and error to put them or use a software to visually check where is the platform / hitbox etc...?

Keep it up!
So many project, so many concepts!
I feel just like you beside the fact I only started one of them.

Nice concept! I think you should add some kind of super jump like in Zvitor's JL game, and/or the Hansburg script:

https://github.com/DCurrent/openbor-script-Hansburg

My biggest disappointment with bWWd's game is that Catra's not playable, though. It would be fun to add her in, as a sort of "Horde Mode", or having her join the Evil Warriors instead (or even reforming). She'd lend herself well to this sort of thing. It reminds me a little of a lot of the Marvel games on the 16-bit consoles.

Shes too evil ! Cant make her playable, she misbehaved.

That's why I suggested a Versus mode to allow for playable bosses.

On-topic, though, I think maybe enemies could stand out from the background a little more.

Nice start Gabotico :)

I can see that there are many work to be done. I suggest these:
1. Simplify the platforms Or simplify the enemy.
Default AI isn't good for platform action, so it's best to give them long platforms without holes
Alternatively, make simpler enemy which only stands still and attacks when player is in close range

2. The boss needs alternate attacks and also a move which allows player to get away from him

I agree that the boss needs new moves, but the Hansburg Script will help out with platforming. It's a problem I've seen in MIW and others, where the boss at a certain distance is content to spam an attack as the player keeps blocking.

Sorry AGAIN for taking FOREVER to reply. I recently (today) started working on this game again. I finally got the most recent version of OpenBOR to work on my PC. I can finally have "ducking" and "duckrise" animations. I also changed the sprites for the platform, which by the way, they're entities. With the new sprites it's easier to tell what part of the platform is walkable. I'm a HUGE MOTU fan and I really wanna work on this project. Thanks everyone for all the feedback.

So, I'm a HUGE MOTU Fan! I started this project a couple of years ago but, I wasn't happy about SEVERAL things. I've changed many of those things and the game is now closer to what I wanted. Alfredo Alcala was like my favorite MOTU artist, and he's been an even bigger influence than I had realized. I believe it shows in the game. There are other things I haven't figured like how to make the "Hover Robots" really fly. They're unable to fly over the edge of a platform.

I changed the shading, the characters are not as dark as before. You should be able to see it on the attached image.

The Title Screen music was "stolen" from OminousVoice. Here's the link:

The Background Music for the Levels was also used WITHOUT permission and written by a GREAT Musician named Adrian von Ziegler . I thought it was a good fit for the game. Here's a link to his YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Adrianvo...

HOPEFULLY I won't get in trouble for using their music WITHOUT their permission!

The outfit and haircut version are a little better and the whole sprite could be nicer without the black outlines but it's just my opinion.
Congratulations for the effort to make customs sprites ;) .

Thanks for your feedback! Call me crazy but I find that black outline to be appealing. Alfredo Alcala is one my favorite artists and he used black a lot. Also, Shinkiro's drawings usually have that black outline and I like it so much. I guess it's a matter of taste, OR maybe I just have weird taste. The Game/MOD is heavily influenced by Alcala's Visual Style. Those were my favorite Mini Comics back in the day. And I like the Action Figures take on the characters better than the Filmation series, as much I loved the show as a kid.
