Porting to Xbox - Need Help

Hi,

I have an old original Xbox that I am running OpenBor on. Some games work and Some games do not.

I am currently working to port some of the games I want to add for my kids (for my personal use only). But I do not know what I am doing.

I am using Marvel First Alliance (1) as my base because I know it works. I noticed that most of the games that do not play have OGG files for music instead of BOR. Could that be the issue?

If not, what sources can I use to get these ported correctly and/or is anyone on here willing to do them for me for some $ ?

I think i know what you mean you want to downgrade the mod so it works with older builds.

This  could be done but its a very big job for heavily scripted mods and could break thd mods functionality.

There are multiple reasons for incompatibility so music file could only be one of them. Old build which works on XBOX doesn't support many new features

I'm willing to do that for some $. Hopefully the mods aren't heavily scripted

This subject is confusing for me.  If you successfully port openbor then any updates to the source code should still compile.

I think he means he would convert (downgrade) a mod to play on the old Xbox build.

The last Xbox version was 3698 http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?topic=939.msg8799#msg8799

As far as I know, we don't have the tools to compile for this platform anymore. And this is good in the end: there won't be any support for it, officially.

Yes, I mean to downgrade the MOD.

If I am ONLY using it for personal use should I still ask permission first from the person who made it?

BTW... It is scripted pretty heavy.

Also, PM me a rough estimate of what it would cost to downgrade the mod

I know that A Tale of Vengeance works, Because I downloaded a package some time ago that included games that could run on Xbox. The games were mostly not so good. Another one in there might have been Splatterhouse. And you are right only the simple games work. But since then, I upgraded my Open bor for Xbox and now it can play Rhythm of Destruction 2. The previous build use to freeze after the first stage. Btw, the first package that I mentioned was designed for Classic Xbox but I have my Xbox360 on backwards compatibility thus, I can run it. If there's anyway I could help, please let me know.
