Rotsprite help

Hey I got windows 8.1 and tried to use rotsprite and it crashes when it loads the picture is there another version compatible with higher version windows the only thing i can think of is it crashes because of the windows i have

AFAIK the new Aseprite has rot sprite feature, i know it's not free but you can build it yourself from the source code and it's free. Or if you don't know how to do it just look it up on caencel deviant art about aseprite, because he shares his Aseprite build

well it worked on a friends computer with the same specs and opp system.  I wonder if Im missing something like I have to download something else for it to work.  I had the same problem with stats till i downloaded something and it stopped doing that.  I wonder what else it needs in order for it to work
