RPG Maker Forms Shut Down - New Site

I don't know if we have any RPG Maker fans here, but I just heard the forums are now locked and the server goes offline 2026 December. If there are any topics you want, might want to head over there and grab a copy.

As I understand, one of the members has launched a new site to fill the gap. Everything I know is second hand, so you'll have to explore for yourself.

Hey! Thanks for the shout-out!
I'm Nolan, but most people recognize me by my username on RMW (and now RPG Refuge), theAM-dol.
I'm one of the members who helped with migrating the community and archiving RMW.
(RMW being RPG Maker Web forum)

For those who don't know:
GGG (the developer of the RPG Maker series of softwares) requested Komodo (The ex-publisher and host of the official forums) to shut down the official forums which had been up for 14 years, housing an expansive set of knowledge for every version of the software, as well as countless free assets made by the community for use in games.

I was quick to act, establishing a Discord to maintain communication with the community as well as coordinate community migration and archival.
After nearly 2 months, we have the new website up with at least 3 archives hosting RMW data.

In the aftermath of GGG's announcement, a few new forums popped up. Notably GGG's own "RPG Maker Guild" forum - which the community rejected for numerous reasons - as well as RM Planet, and existing RPG Maker communities like the Reddit and RPG Maker (dot) net.
After polling the community though, no one felt like those were adequate replacements for RMW. Since many of the original moderators and long time members of RMW followed the community to the Discord, we decided we could create a new website to become our new home. With some help and blessings from some of the old admins of RMW, we began rebuilding our home.

Unfortunately due to legal and technical reasons, we can't import the data from the old RMW on RPG Refuge; we hope that we can still make a thriving community that support small-time game developers of all walks, utilizing all engines.
One of the liberating parts of creating a forum no longer under a corporate banner is that we can branch out support for game engines that might have once been viewed as competition to the brand our previous forums were tied to.

We're welcoming any devs of any engine to come to the forum; share you knowledge or learn.
Many of our members are RPG Maker devs now, but we hope as time goes on RPG Maker users will branch out to new engines and maybe other engine users will want to try RPG Maker. Mix and mingle!
Feel free to ask me any questions!

See you there!
