Yo guys, need a little help deciding on something. At the bottom of this post you'll find a two page image from the Sonic archie comics. I wanna know if anyone knows any good robots similar to these or good material for them that can be recolored. The only ones I've seen so far are a few custom sheets of Metroid characters, and one enemy from Contra Hard Corps. They only need enough sprites to move around, shoot, and hopefully take damage.

One in the back does look like a recolored E-100 series unit.

And I think Repliforce grunts would be good reference material:

Thanks for that Miru, that may work. I'm assuming you meant the bots at the very bottom right?

I meant the one at the top right rocketing forwards. But I now see there are others with an E-100 type look. Speaking of E-100, I'm actually making an E-1000 enemy sprite as an edit of Delta.

I was talking about the sheet you made me. Also, there's more robots on that comic then just the E-series robot, and I already have those in the game anyway. The enemies at the bottom of that sheet do resemble one of the Swat Bots though.

Okay. Yeah, the Repliforce grunts do match some of these enemies shown.

While playing, I discovered a few bugs and oddities.

* Nobody's grab attacks hit the non-grabbed enemies except for those of the Battletoads. This makes grab-attacking a little bit of a finicky endeavor.
* In a run section, Pimple has some of Rash's attacks and animations. Also, some of his freespecials have the wrong color palette.
* Egg Gunners sometimes just lay down instead of exploding. They also only fade away in running sections.
* Shadow's dash attack has a Knuckles voice clip.

*Will have to look into that one, it usually works.
*I thought I fixed that with Pimple's attacks. I'll look it over again. The color palette thing has been there since Sega Brawlers, it's just a matter of resolving it.
*That depends on how they were killed. If they aren't killed by a regular attack while standing, that's gonna happen.
*This is very old, but the voice clips I got for Shadow at the time had those in there, but I didn't think much of it at the time.
----------------

As for the real reason why I came to post, I got around to trying to color the new robots the same way as the Swat Bots from the comic cover. It's odd in certain places but I think this is pretty close to what I wanted. Haven't gotten to the eyes yet.

Some more bugs I've discovered:

* Charmy's honey attack turns the Cyber Metal enemy units blue instead of their normal red color.
* Some enemies, like the Cyber Metal drones, have the wrong face on their icon.
* You may get stuck in the middle of Chemical Plant.

*That's not a bug. The honey attack freezes enemies and I just need to find a way to keep Metal Sonic from changing color.
*Also not a bug, just an error.
*Get stuck where exactly? What part of the level two, there's two segments.

Don't use a freeze box. Instead, use an attack type of your choice and add the stun {int} supplement to it. The target will be "frozen" (without remapping) for {int} seconds.

In the 2D segment, there's the part where the bubbling Mega Mack comes out and jumps between two pipes. That's where you can get stuck, probably from attacking the poison pipes.

DJ, have you seen this:

Thank you. I think I'd revamp these into Sonic Battle style to fit with the rest of the game.

Thanks, will keep that in mind.  :)

You can't attack the pipes, they have no Bbox and only serve as a trap. You mostly likely left an enemy behind or one isn't jumping over an obstacle to get to you. I've played the stage many times myself without getting this problem.

Looks nice. Will keep it in mind for the future since I do want to replace those Mugen sprites, which are only being used as placeholders.

That wont be needed, just some new sprites would be good enough. On the other hand, you never finished the sprites for Julie-Su.

Aw shucks, I was too busy making level designs, and I got distracted for planning sheets out for Sticks, Perci, and several fan-characters as extra things. I'll get back to her right now. I'd say she's 70-75% done at the moment. No worries, Julie-Su is in good hands.

Hey guys, I made this video while testing the new Swat Bots I just about finished.

EDIT:
Should've posted this to, I made some edits of two enemies from Swat Kats since they were just one sprites. The mutant flies from the first level were replaced with a fly monster from Breath of Fire, IIRC, but I changed the colors and edited the eyes so it looks close to how the original fly looked. The next enemy was basically a mouth with wings that you dodge or shoot during the first flying level. I replaced it with a bat monster from Maple Story, then replaced the one eye it had with the mouth of another monster from Breath of Fire 2, then colored it.

Nice enemies Miru, I'll think about them.  :)

Yo guys, I'm having a but of a problem here with Range. I'm trying to get the speed level NPC's for the Swat Kats do an attack, where they move their bikes backwards to ram enemies behind them. For some reason they wont do it.

Code:
anim	freespecial9
	loop	        0
	delay	2
	range	1 -119
	offset	117 101
	bbox	83 63 78 39
	move	-9
		attack3  80  64  85  37  15  0  0  0  0  25
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	move	-5
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	move	-2
		Attack1  0
	delay	2
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle0.gif
	frame	data/chars/TBone/SIdle1.gif

This is the attack for T-Bone, but Razor has the same range, but reversed in case I had the positive and negative numbers the wrong way with T-Bone, but so far, neither of them do it. They will occasionally shoot projectiles backwards, which is weird because I never set them up to do that. I also tried the @cmd command given to me for Sega Brawlers and used it in their attack 1 anim:
Code:
	@cmd	attack1 0 -95 0 15 "ANI_Freespecial9"

Still got nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

BTW, after i got the Kats done, it took me a long time before I started getting the enemies ready, and work was slow at best when did get to them. After I get this issue sorted out, I only have to add a few more things to the enemies and make some small adjustments, and this new update will be done.

EDIT:
Did some more experiments and they started doing the attack when I removed range from it. lol  :-X

EDIT2:
Made a quick video of the speed section. I'm getting close to the point where I'm going to make a formal preview anyway, so I just did this. https://vimeo.com/159476872

Cool preview of the biking level, DJ. I would have preferred usage of Silver, Mighty, or another character who is getting the new voice clips added in, but Shadow works like a charm.
