Use RUN, set LOOP to 0, and hold down the dash (-> ->) to freeze the animation.

Hi. First time asking for help.
I'm going to apply a short jumping dash forward. The manual says that if LOOP is set to 0 in RUN, the dash effect can be applied. I also tried JUMPFRAME and MOVEA in RUN.
It should be converted to WALK right after the animation is over, but it is just frozen. Interestingly, when you press the attack button in this state, RUNATTACK is applied. I just want to convert to WALK after DASH, but I would like to have a simple script.
And I'll show you my sauce.

Code:
anim	run
	@script
if(frame==3){
    void self = getlocalvar("self");

    changeentityproperty(self, "animation", openborconstant("ANI_WALK"));
}
@end_script
	move	9
	movea	4
	offset	37 115
	loop	0
	frame	data/chars/kimsuil/walk01.gif
	frame	data/chars/kimsuil/walk01.gif
	move	0
	movea	0
	frame	data/chars/kimsuil/walk01.gif

DIGITOY,

You don't need a script to go back to walk animation, so get rid of that. The only thing you might want a script for is to more precisely control the momentum. To set up a dash, just treat it as if the character has a normal run - meaning you can't forget the run settings in model header. When the Run animation gets to last frame and there's no loop, the engine will go back to Idle (or Walk if they're still holding a direction key). That's native behavior, no extras needed. You also don't need "loop 0". Animations are non looping by default.

Here's the dash animation for my Fatal Fury Terry. There is a script, but all it does is stop Terry's movement before Run animation is over.

Code:
delay	12
		offset	76 155
	bbox.position.x 74
	bbox.position.y 66
	bbox.size.x 45
	bbox.size.y 91
	frame	data/chars/terry/dash_0.png
	frame	data/chars/terry/dash_1.png
		delay	5

	bbox.position.x 60
	bbox.position.y 74
	bbox.size.x 45
	bbox.size.y 84

	frame	data/chars/terry/jump_land_0.png
	frame	data/chars/terry/jump_land_2.png
		@cmd dc_disney_dash_stop
	frame	data/chars/terry/jump_land_2.png

HTH,
DC

Thank you so much for the quick answer.
There is still a problem in implementing RUN, but it was solved by using SCRIPT in the text by referring to your FATAL FURY source.
Thanks.
