The game now has 15 levels, divided into 3 sets of 5 sub-levels + training stages + other stuff I can't reveal.
For the next demo, the initial branch will lead, at the end, on the same stage (Hydra's base). But for the final version, it will lead to different paths and different endings.
The worst menace to the players is not Hydra, its someone way powerful than them. Who it could be?  :-X

I am working on Bowman now (Hydra's version of Hawkeye), which was custom voices by a friend of mine :)
Plus, I am working on a BIG surprise. I can't reveal right now, but I wish people enjoy it as I am enjoying.

 
Wooo friend is a good amount of levels for a beta. And tells me there are surprises. I can say that this image shows my current excitement about this game.

Some more news:

- The game will have, at least, 3 unlockable characters. Namor will be unlocked before the Sky Stage and maybe or War Machine or Red Hulk will be unlocked before the Hydra stage. And one after you beat the game (already coded, with his/her sky cycle too)

- Tactical Force Boss is done, now coding Bowman.

- Red hulk sky cycle done

One of the things I've wondered though is how characters with huge aircrafts will deal with enemies coming from above/below and behind since they can't move into a spot to hit them? First Alliance 2 had a couple of problems like that (for example Green Goblin staying at the far left so characters that cannot turn around could never hit him unless they got very lucky and he moved).

It's cool to have some unlockable characters too :)

I was wondering if Tigra's Hellcat costume is already coded with different moves? It's not shown in any of the videos so I was curious if that was a thing yet :)

Looking forward to seeing the Bowman stuff.

This change from char to char. Some char can turn around and fight the enemies (the ones who flies), some can throw bombs backward and some will need to move to escape. Its almost the same thing in MFA2.

Just one of her moves is different from the normal mode. I think I made a movie about showing this, I can't remember.
 
Let's fight Tactical Force!
This stage comes before the Trapster stage. On this video we can see some cool things:

- Zoom
- Custom cursors at the menu (now complete)
- Custom intro again
- Music change
- Sin & Cos (look at helicopter)

I hope you guys like it. I plan to make this battle a tad harder than that.

very cool those zoom in and out enemies in this stage gave a very cool touch,
i think maybe its just with me but the nightslashers music was easy recognizable, and one thing i like most on your project is the feeling its all fresh and hard to regonize form where it came from
 
Wow, that was awesome! One of the best looking and most memorable boss fights I've seen in an OpenBOR game. I love the way that fight feels. It'll be a lot of fun to play.

I liked Iron Man's new dive punch move too. It looks way more effective than his other aerial attacks.

Has his flight been altered too? He seems not to descend too quickly anymore, which is great.

Which music? The evil intro or the normal song before the boss? I don't remember getting any music from that game, but this is possible, because all the musics on this game were extracted from games which uses the same sound chip from the original game (Yahama YM2151).

Edit: yes, the music comes from that game, i had confirme it now. The original is a tad faster, maybe I will use it. That music is called Chaser, which give exaxtly the feel I want to.

Yes, I had change it a bit. Now he consumes way lays power to stay flying and he has a new attack. I plan to give him a new attack and make him be able to land without attacking.

I always like it, O, every time you showcase everything you got about the real environment of the battle system and such which I love. Super interesting as always, my man! The "zoom" effects of falling enemies are amazingly cool too. ;D Love it so much, O!
 
Thanks to uTunnels for that zoom code, its amazing! Its one of the codes stored on my drive which I wanted to use someday, then finally I did :)

1) Ah cool. So not just DECO games that used that specific chip? Or even just arcade titles (some Japanese computers used that chip)? I like the distinct sound flavor this game gives.

I'm kinda disappointed that the autogun isn't shooting as often as I thought :(
But I'm happy to see more actions this level has :D. You really should add bomber enemies which drops bomb on the truck and leaves
 
Speed, zoom, background with attacking elements, it's really an epic battle! :D

Still I'll nitpick by saying dezoom has a visual issue when it happens on Deadpool's cab (as if the char becomes small whereas far). I think the only way to avoid it could be to prevent this animation when the char is on a certain zone of the screen. Besides that, I'd enjoy seeing Deadpool to have some animations to break the 4th wall, such as a wink.

One of the things is the "skin" games - games where the coder just change the sprites, but its basically the same old BOR. The other is the mix match of many games, where the coders just put and paste everything together without any rule - everything clash with everything. I am not the best modder of the world, but I am trying to make a good game, full of details, and not just "one more mod".
So true! Modders with this mind are priceless! But I must say it's hard to really master code language to offer a good various game.

Yes, it can be any game with the same sound chip. For example, there are some music which comes from the Genesis version, like the intro music.

That was my initial idea, I just had no time to add it, but I will, thanks! The Autogun has a bad name, because its not that automatic - it just shoot when you (or the enemy) hit it.

I get very happy whenever someone says the boss battle are epic, because its really my intention. The music, the frenetic action, the aggressive AI are all intentional, to give a sense of urgency.

1) If I had more musical knowledge/talent, I'd convert some CPS-2 and other tracks to that format for a nice nod. Good choices.

2) Bombers? Now that's interesting. Maybe enemies that hang from the side of the vehicle that you can knock off?

3) Agreed. This battle gives Jet Stingray a run for its money. I can only imagine what other bosses may be like...

hahaha thank buddy. I am jealous of people which could relase 1 or 2 games while I was working on this, like Zvitor, Maggas, Mersox, etc :)

Nice idea! I just can't add anything more to that stage or I won't be able to follow the deadline.

I can only imagine what other bosses may be like...

Ah, no. It would be too much into comical (read FUNNY) zone and would screw the tension of the game.
