I would like to know is there a way to port characters sprites from mugen to openbor.
I'm looking to get Jin,Heihachi and Gouken.

Check Tekken chars here Tekken Series

@msmalik681 also made decent Tekken game

I don't know but it's pretty comprehensive and still being updated
or you can visit mugen archives if you can't find what you're looking for
I found Heihachi but I don't have access to his sprites,Hence the post!
I want to convert those files to .png since.

You have to find fighter factory.
Then open a character with this software
then extract the sprites.

I cannot tell more.
Have a look try to experiment.
It will work.
Much appreciated!
I will give it ago.
I got most of my characters but some sprite sheets are incomplete.
I'll look into ways of extracting sprites this way!

You mean for editing my sprites?
after I get the sprite I want I use Photoshop
Making the game part!
I'm using openborstats.
I kept coming across new sprites for Ken!
It's annoying until I found the correct package but it's a chore I have to convert those files from pcx to png.

FYI there's a tool in ChronoCrash Modders Tools that basically extract every sprites from a mugen character, convert them to png and create a file containing OpenBOR style animations for all animations (with correct offsets, correct delays, and so on).

When CMT is opened, it's located in "Tools" -> "Tool dialog" -> "Convert Mugen character"

Wait what!
I will have to familiarize my with that tool of yours Mr. Piccolo!
Thank you
You're not even forced to, the Mugen converter in CMT is mostly independent. You feed it the .air and .sff, and it produces sprites files and two txt files. One of the txt files contains the OpenBOR template for the character animations. Then it's up to to you to copy paste the desired content (animations) of this file in whatever program you use to edit your mod.

Mr.Piccolo
Is there an example of this perhaps?
Since I havent started on my enemy type characters.
You basically solved this for me with CMT.
The issue I face is that the sprite sheets I use are 95% complete.
The reason for mugen is that I could get all the sprites.
@machok must a person sign up to mugen archives to get the files?

Yes and the rules on the site are a little unreasonable sometimes, so once you've registred grab what you need fast 🤭

I don't know what their rules are, but in fairness, I make users sign up to download here as well. Without some amount of gatekeeping, the bots and leeches would overrun us, hogging up bandwidth away from legitimate downloads.

There's also a side effect in that having an account helps encourage real participation.

I actually found a site that provided me with all the sprites .png without needing to sign up

Only thing is they aren't OpenBor ready!
CMT bypass this though.
Like you said it would require less effort from me when creating a character but cutting them from a sprite sheet is something I'm so use to
but your approach is faster and more convenient.

@DCurrent
I forgot the rules too as I remember, registering is not enough but members must be active such as posting regularly
this is actually ok for me. The thing is, we can't just post randomly, there are rules on when members can post
and if you don't comply, you will be banned.
I just don't understand how can a site be that strict  at least this is just my experience
