Snail N Turtle

In Progress My new mods/ 3 demos download in 1st post 0.5

No permission to download
The project is currently under development.
I do have bigger versions in original size but ideally its best to do like 200% scale and then when you resize to 50% then it looks like sprite cause in original size it looks like that new street fighter in hi res(too much like drawing).Heres original:

So i would need to redraw sprites in bigger res but when i animated biggest chracter then stickman was a big laggy on my laptop so it wouldnt be comfortable to animate that cause animation preview is choppy with big characters.

thanks, i had almost 2 years break from making mods so its time to do something and try new techniqes and what happened with your mod? you had some nice edits in there.

Looks like a really fun mod indeed  :) i love how well you have animated your sprites.

After you finish this mod you should really consider having another go at a tmnt mod based on the original comic style, i think you could do it really well considering how good this mod looks, the reason i say this is because i was sad your hard drive broke and you lost all your data for that tmnt mod it was looking really good, just a idea anyway ;)

I was thinking about that, using sprites from mirage first comic books i also did 3d raph to see how he would look as a sprite for tmnt film based game

video test
Stance is bit gay tho and very deformed ;D

Im thinking about picking up things from the ground and throwing them but for now theyre just containters for items.

Thanks, I will make a couple stages and maybe release it, with my method of making sprites i can make some characters that i designed myself, i did that polar bear yesterday for another mod.

I wish i would discover that program sooner, i wouldnt have to be limited to existing sprites only and its always a bit different if you draw and animate characters yourself.

even if not my type, these sprites are very cool! congratulations!

i wish i had more time to learn this program, maybe in the future...

the animation is delicious and fun.

I consider this type of work as Pixel Art.

I love Genuine and original games, especially when they are created with love and care.

I was born with a Commodore 64 and I know a genius when I see it :)

ps. @Pierwolf, non oso pensare a cosa ne uscirà fuori col tuo prossimo lavoro :D

ps. @Pierwolf, I dare not think about how it will land your next job :D

Yeah these sprites cant be shaded cause it will give away that its cutout animation but i try to put shadow at least to hand and leg that are in distance from camera, it is possible to add some highlight but I tried only in this one

There are some sprites without shadows in some vs games

Or at least characters arent heavily shadowed like in some older games from 90's.
Animations look more like cartoon, it would fit simpsons game or other animated show based game

the effect seems to me very much like antialiasing, softness and cleaning the sprites.

It is an excellent technique, at least for me.

I think this will be the era of the NextGen mod :)

ps. Will be also compatible and smoothness on my S3? :P

I play it on my galaxy s in 60fps without problem
I resize animation with bicubic method so theres not that much blur yet still enough blur to create new inbetween colours that dont distract like with bilinear resize.

with bicubic method there is the pontenzially problem of ghost near edge or Ringing artifacts (echo).

You use the gaussian blur?

Have you tried also with the Bilateral filter?
